This guide will focus on the new ways you can improve your character at Nightfall Citadel, which includes Reforging, Resetting Mastery and Resistances, and Reputations.

Part One: Gear Reforging
Have you ever gotten a piece of gear and said to yourself, ‘Geez, I love this mail, but it just doesn’t have the right amount of Defense for me.’ You have? Then Gear Reforging is just for you! In essence, Gear Reforging is the ability to increase the attributes for a piece of gear. So if you don’t like the Defense on that piece of mail, by Reforging it, you will have the chance to increase said Defense, as well as any other attribute on the piece of gear.

Here is an example of a piece of gear that can be Reforged. Now there are two important and new lines on the gear that directly pertain to Gear Reforging, and both are colored green.
The first is ‘Able to be Reforged’. Only pieces of gear with this line of text are able to have their attributes altered.
The second, and most important, are the lines underneath the gear’s attributes: [Active 0% Active {Stat}]. This line will appear under any attributes that are able to be Reforged on each piece of gear.
Attribute 0-100%:
This represents the percentage of the set amount of increase a piece of gear can receive. Each piece of gear has a set amount that each attribute can be increased by, so if the set amount of an increase to Defense is 60, then the percentage number will be based on that set amount. (Thus if you have ‘Attribute 10%’ of 60, it will be 6.) Also note that each piece of gear has its own set amount that each attribute can be increased by, so it is up to you to find them all…
Active [Stat]:
This is the current amount the attribute is increased by. So using the above example, if you have that 10% increase of 60, then this number will be 6.

Here is a picture of the Gear Reforging window, both before and after a Reforge try. As you can see, in addition to the gear, you will need a Reforging item called an Astral Reforge Charm, which can be looted from mobs in Aepelio. Once you have one, you will see that it can increase your attributes by 5% OR decrease it by that same amount. There is an exception to this rule, however. If the amount of increase or decrease is less than 1%, it will be rounded up or down in order to have an even number. So in the above picture, the maximum amount that the Defense stat could be increased is 10, and since a result of 5% or less is a value of .5 or less, the value is rounded up to 1, or 10%.
Max Gain and Max Loss:
These numbers represent the maximum amount of increase or decrease you will get per Reforge try. The decrease and increase form a scale, and where you land on that scale (as seen in the results window) will determine the amount of loss/increase. Each try will result in a roll, and what roll you get will determine your gain or loss. Now looking at the picture on the left, you can see the possible results of the roll are 0%-5%. This means the roll will fall somewhere between those numbers. Now while the initial roll is always favorable, as you can’t go below 0%, later rolls will have a different set of numbers, which will be explained in a bit. As for the overall scale the roll is made on, it looks like this:
Decrease 5%-4%-3%-2%-1%-0%-1%-2%-3%-4%-5% Increase
As you can see there are 11 possible results, all of which are equally random, with the exception being a result of less than 1, as explained earlier. This scale is where each attempt at Gear Reforging will land you. Looking at the Results part of the picture, the amount of Health gained was a roll of 5%, or 50 points, indicating the maximum gain allowed by the system for an even number. If the result would have been 1% increase, the gear would have only gained 10 points of health. Conversely, if the result would have been a 5% decrease, then the gear would have lost 50 points of health (had it been higher than 0%), so keep that in mind when you attempt to Reforge your gear!

Ok, now that you know how Reforging works, here comes the tricky part. Pictured above is an example of a piece of gear that has already been Reforged a couple of times. Looking at the Results window, you can see some numbers that at first might be confusing, but once I explain them, they will simply be an odd choice of design, but understandable.
Looking at the first attribute, you can see it has been Reforged to 20%, with the roll result for the next try being 15%-25%. Now what does all this mean, you ask? Well as I explained earlier, the 20% represents the total amount of Reforging you have done thus far. Now this is important because this number is the one that influences the roll result of the next try. Remember the scale? If we apply the scale to 20%, with 20% being in the middle, then we would have the roll land somewhere in between 15% (most decrease) and 25% (most increase). This scale shows you both your maximum possible gain of 5% for the next try (increasing it to 25%) and your worst possible loss of 5% (decreasing it to 15%), rounding up and down to the nearest even number of course.
Looking at the second attribute, we can see it is Reforged to 2%, with the roll result being 0%-7% for the next try. Now why is this important? It is important because if you apply the scale to 2%, you will still get the chance to increase the attribute to 5% even though you cannot go below 0% for the decrease. In other words, when you first start Reforging gear you have very little chance of having it decrease versus a high chance of having it increase in value.
Part Two: Resetting your Mastery and Resistance
The second of our new and exciting features is the ability to reset your Mastery and Resistance points and use them to train any of the other masteries and resistances you may have!
Now what this system entails is not a free set of points to add to your character, but rather a chance to go back and start over, without losing all the points you already purchased. It essentially allows you to re-spec your masteries and resistances by taking the levels of each Mastery and Resistance and converting them into Training Points, which can then be applied to any other Mastery or Resistance at no other cost.
The first thing you will need is a Book of Masteries. These can be purchased in the Eyrda Boutique, or if you are lucky enough, Celladius will give to you as a reward for having your masteries or resistances high enough.

Once you have a book, go to your class tutor and select Reset Mastery and Resistance. When you do, you will see the window in the picture above appear. Looking closely, you will notice the section called ‘Training Points’. These are the points you will receive if you decide to reset your masteries and resistances, based on your current levels in each particular stat. You will then be able to spend them on any Mastery or Resistance you have (whether or not you had points in it before) without having to spend Vigor or coins, until you have used up all your Training Points, after which you will have to get your masteries and resistances up normally.

Keep in mind that the more you level up your masteries and resistances, the more, in training points, it will cost. Some of the highest levels can cost hundreds, if not more, of training points per level. Keep this in mind as you re-spec, as this is a system designed to allow you more flexibility with your character with the points you already purchased, not a way to circumvent Vigor and gold cost.
Part Three: Reputation Gear
With all the new features and character enhancements added to this expansion, I would be remiss if I didn’t talk about the four new Reputation statistics and the rewards that can be purchased with them!

If you bring up your reputation window, you will notice a tab marked ‘Hero’. Select it and you will see four new reputation stats, along with one that is currently unavailable to the citizens of Eyrda. They are Slayer, Triumph, Bounty, and Champion. These four are pivotal if you wish to collect the highest level gear currently for sale.

Enter any of the following instances and kill the final Boss: Outer Ancestral Catacomb, Ancestral Catacomb, The Forgotten Prison, Aeon Spire, Gauntlet of Storms, and Tomb of Kings.

How to obtain:
Rewarded for finishing the following quests: Nightfall Citadel Daily Events, Dragon Orders, and Faith Orders.

Kill monsters above Lv60.

Bounty and Champion function like Arena Points, in that they are spent as currency, whereas Slayer and Triumph are set ranks to be reached and never get lowered or are spent.

Chances of getting in good reforge result in FW is no different from reforging in other PWI games,..eg BOI, WOI,..etc. U either get a good result...or u make things worse and ITS STILL EXPENSIVE EITHER WAY

oh yeah just like EVERYTHING ELSE a CHANCE to make it better or WORSE with the reforging materials you give up. Wow i am so Excited i might WET MYSELF WITH JOY!!!!! and the gear i have on now is FAR SUPERIOR to your new blue junk that drops so i get one of your new pieces of JUNK and hope that your REFORGING makes it better and NOT WORSE? NTY
