Pets in Forsaken World play a very important role. They can heal, deal damage, and grow from small fluffy creatures to hideous, fanged monsters – that consequently are very handy to have in a fight. Raising one properly can be a challenge, though. Read on to learn more!
First and foremost, you have to hatch a pet from its egg in order to even use it. To begin the hatching process, simply right click on your pet stone. At this point, you are presented with your first opportunity to increase your pets statistics. The longer a pet remains in its hatching state, the more powerful it will be immediately upon hatching. Keep hatching pets until you get one with a long hatch time, as it will be much more useful than one that hatches quickly!
After hatching your pet, you can check its statistics screen for a variety of things. One thing to take close note of are any offensive or defensive abilities that it comes with. You can also check to see what the pets strengths and weaknesses are – which are randomly determined upon hatching. Don't like your pets strengths or weaknesses? Hatch a new one to reroll them!
Next, you need to make sure you've got the correct food to feed your pet. Pets have a hunger gauge that will gradually deplete, and must be kept full to keep your pet happy. You can buy pet food from the pet merchant in Freedom Harbor, or find it out in the wilderness from killing monsters. Certain pets will require certain foods, so make sure you get the right kind.
As you kill monsters with your pet summoned, it will gain experience the same way you do. As your pet gains levels, its statistics increase, it becomes more powerful overall, and even its size changes. The higher level the pet, the bigger it will be!
Once you've decided on a particular pet, there are a variety of tweaks and changes you can do as an owner. Explore the pet menu by hitting "P" in game, and see which areas you'd like to focus on. Various pet-related merchants are scattered about Freedom Harbor, so pay each of these a visit to see what they have to offer.
With diligence and proper training, your pet can contribute more to a fight than you'd think was possible. You definitely won't regret having an all-powerful Dudu Turtle watching your back when fighting a giant stone golem with fists the size of school buses. Good luck!

ook... i've got beta key,activated it,tried to log in and... "Incorrect Username or Password" i need to wait for an email or something saying "You can now log in to Forsaken World" its pissing me off...

I've gotten into the game and yes first pets r a wolf turtle and ram. Ive seen a nightmare and couple of other odd pets but no griffin. They do grow as they level but not to mountable size. And they do also fight along with you.

i want that griffin pet and i hope the downloading process will be faster so i can be a kindred vampire and i can turn into a bat. I hope i can turn into a bat starting at level 1 not like in perfect world i was an untamed venomancer and i had to wait until lvl9 to turn into a frickn fox

well you'll be disappointed bout this coz in FW you'll turn into a bat when ur level 30 Kindred~~ xD

i downloaded the game got the beta key i reedemed, it still cannot login n play it say incorrect id & password. wen is it realesing?????????? , i have many plans for christmass n also dont want to miss the game.

what would be really cool is if when the pet reaches a level where its size is larger than the player, the player could then mount it. if it has wings u can fly, if it swims you can sail ect ect

Yeah I just downloaded it today got my key I got an email all about you have been selected blah blah wait for your beta account activation email. How long is the wait? and is this PWEs round about way of not letting people play there game......I mean seriously I have played what 3of there games. SO SILLY!

I read that in the beginning you can choose between a wolf, a lamb, and a turtle for your beginning pet.

..ok this is getting ridiculous. PW said that the second closed beta phase was starting the 24th, right? Yet i haven't gotten any e-mail regarding whether or not I'm allowed in. I'm going to try anyways, but I doubt it will work. (I am registered, and did receive an e-mail saying i didn't make the first phase)

lol i had the same problem for both phase one and 2 i sent a ticket after that happened for phase 1 but it was obvious no one read it because the answer i got was regarding something else entirely and the problem persisted for phase 2. I know its just gonna keep on happening pwe has very bad management and i lose more and more faith in them as i see them fail harder and harder, the one thing they never fail at is failing ._.

I'm not sure if this has been answered. if it has I apologize. How do we know what phase of closed beta we have been accepted into...or will we not know until we receive the email? ^^ Also, pet system looks good.

You have 2 ways to find out. 1. Look in your email to find the invitation into the CBT. 2. Download and login into the game, If you get rejected ( login or password is incorrect ) then you haven`t been accepted. I hope that your question has been answered. Best regards.
